My concept for a blog is to focus on the ever-growing entertainment industry in Michigan. I do not propose trying to find filmmakers such as Clint Eastwood or Jason Reitman who have shot films here, but finding the local focus on movies and television in Michigan. Much will revolve around Flint area people and businesses involved in the making of movies in Michigan, as well as events that happen around the mid-Michigan area that can bring Hollywood’s focus here. This has great prominence, as outlined in the textbook, considering the fact that big name actors and directors have used Michigan as a backdrop for some great films, such as “Up in the Air” or “Gran Torino” most recently.
Timeliness is also an issue, since the movie industry has just found Michigan a place to make a home. Proximity is the key though. While I am interested in the movie industry, I would not dare create a blog dealing with Hollywood exclusively. I hope to bring the focus here to Michigan and showcase the average, everyday people that fuel its success.
The audience will be broad, which helps. Have you ever met someone who says they don’t like movies? It’s hard to find the negativity in promoting movies in Michigan.

I think Michigan would be a great place to film movies, especially in the un-touched wilderness of northern Michigan. Or you could always film an action flick in Detroit, like Gran Turino..
