In the following clip, Nancy Cassis, a republican senator from Novi, talks about how the past two years have been all downhill for Michigan when it comes to the Michigan Film Incentive. There has been no resurgence in employment according to Cassis, who also asks why the film business gets incentives when other businesses don't.

She is wrong. The BLS does not count freelance, contractors and seasonal employees - that is those who are hired for film jobs. The figures quoted regard broadcast jobs which have in fact been reduced. This is just another example of her not understanding the industry.
